So much has changed in the past few weeks. I feel like Dorothy sucked up from her bleak, black and white farmhouse and spit out into the colorful, dreamlike world of Munchkin Land. Except my Munchkin Land is the beautiful chaos of New York City. Last week, I accepted a six month internship with Alice + Olivia in the executive department. You may be wondering: didn't you just start an internship/shadow program with Mount Sinai? You would be correct. But then I had a realization that I wanted to dress up and wear heels, lipstick, and patterned tights to work. While that sounds extremely superficial and meaningless, it's little things like that which make all the difference in your day to day happiness. I'm 20 years old and I've been on this "trusting my gut" kick, so I let it lead me to Alice + Olivia. I couldn't have made a better decision. I work 10 hour days every weekday, but the days fly by in a blur of trips to Saks and Barneys, booking extravagant vacations and business trips for A+O's president, and everything in between. Some people function best when they are busy (and wearing suede booties and dark plum lipstick), and I'm starting to realize I am definitely one of those people.
I've said it before and I'll say it again right and then probably 500 more times in the next year. New York is the best city in the entire world, and it is the only city for me. I feel like a girl falling in love with someone and learning new untouched details about him every day that just deepen that initial attraction. Every day I discover intimate details about New York. A couple days ago I found a tiny vegan sushi place (oxymoron, whatever). Last weekend I ventured down to Tribeca with my brother and had brunch at the cutest retro restaurant called Kitchenette. After brunch, we wandered without purpose down to Battery Park and found this tiny little park that looked like it was scooped out of the stone age and dumped at the edges of Manhattan. I wish I could remember the name of the park, but I can't. I need to go back. It was magical and bizarre at the same time.
I have always been a visual person, and though I love to write about all the new experiences I've been having, I think pictures could do all of this more justice.
Happy Friday! I have so much more to write, so I promise there will be new posts very shortly. Enjoy your

Mirror pic (mixed feelings about this) at Alice + Olivia
aka my office in the Meatpacking District. The building
is incredible, the showroom is incredible. Everything
from the reception area to the bathroom are like a scene
from Alice in Wonderland. Oh, and Jay Z/Queen B stopped
by this week.

In reference to my paragraph above. Look at that smile.
Kitchenette in Tribeca. So cute and girly and fun.
I recommend the cinnamon bun waffles.

I've recently fallen in love with Strand, a
book store that is way more than a book
store. I think I spent almost two hours
wandering around and taking it all in.

Last but not least, you would never
expect to find such beautiful flowers
at Grand Central, but I see them daily.
They are always so gorgeous and
colorful. Single girl problems.
